Melasma Treatment

Hello Encanta Lovers and welcome back to our blog page, here you can find a lot of information of our services and treatments. In this case, we are going to talk about Melasma, what is means and everything about the treatment.

What Melasma means?

Melasma is a pigmentation disorder due to hormonal changes such as pregnancy or even sun exposure.

Melasma is differentiated from other forms of hyperpigmentation mainly by its cause; rather than just being sun-related, melasma is caused in part by hormonal changes within the body.

Who gets Melasma?

Women are much more likely than men to develop this condition.

The brown or gray- brown patches of melasma appear most often on the cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin.

Melasma often fades on its own after pregnancy or after an affected woman goes off birth control pills.

How is the treatment for Melasma?

There are creams your healthcare professional can prescribe that can lighten the skin.

They might also prescribe topical steroids to help lighten the affected areas.

If these topical creams don’t work, chemical peels, and Laser base treatment (PiQo4) are possible options.

These treatments strip away the top layers of skin and may help lighten dark patches.

In Encanta we have the most amazing laser technology for this treatment, which is our laser PiQo4.

PiQo4 is a laser machine that can remove tattoos, dark spots, melasma, freckles, and any dark pigmentation.

These procedures don’t guarantee that melasma won’t come back, and some cases of melasma can’t be completely lightened.

You have to follow some skin treatment practices to reduce the risk of the melasma returning.

These include minimizing your sun exposure and wearing sunscreen (SPF 50+) daily, and Skin lightening creams can help lasting melasma.

Will Melasma go away? How many sessions are neccesary?

The session of any treatment depends on each person, the skin, and the melasma type.

That’s why we recommend doing a consultation with our laser technician, to really know what the best treatment is and how many sessions it will be.

We also have the option to do a virtual consultation in our messages and social media, but in some, it’s necessary to evaluate the client in our Medspa.

If you want to start with a virtual consultation, send us a message to our IG and Facebook @encantacejas or to our Cellphone-WPP 786-366-6390.

We’re waiting for you, take care! And see you soon…
